In a Cup!

It all started
when he walked out of the kitchen
with that warm mug
filled with the magic morning potion
“COFFEE”

The steam dancing with the wind
as he slowly paced his steps back to the porch
He saw his lover sleeping
the bed sheets tangled her body
he witnessed her breathing, she looked peaceful

He continued his steps
following the sun rays outside
he set his mug, lit his cigarette

His black coffee sits still in his mug
he nestles it between his hands
over his stomach

he looks within that mug
marveling at the potion that springs
a sense of awareness

Suddenly he finds himself
being sucked in his mug
into a spiral of mystery

He is spiraling down
into an unknown place
it all happened so fast
he felt like he lost his breath

He hit something
his body felt numb
against the flat ground
as he gathered his strength
his mind was racing against a wave of unknowns

He stood up, the land was patches of brown
with blotches of green
He rubbed his eyes, hoping when he opens them
he’d be home, on the porch next to his bed
where his lover lay there, sound asleep

But, NO!

He was still there
He scanned the environment
he walked aimlessly
guided by his instincts
He heard noises, giggles
feminine ones

He followed the noises,
he got near a pond where mermaids lay
gorgeous mystical creatures
his eyes dilated, his heart beat, his skin awakened

“Come sit with us, we know you need it”
Confused and bewildered by their realness
he sat on a stone protruding from the lake
the water was galactic in color
the glistening effect was in the form of stars
the water rose up, as the mermaids started singing

“Engulf him, magical water
let all those worries filtered
make stars in his eyes shimmer
we are your muses, let’s make
the real you, surface with vigor”

the water rose up and hugged his presence
carrying him beyond the clouds
setting him next to the sun
“what the hell was in that coffee?” he asked himself

a beautiful maiden with hair
made from sun rays, gracefully
walked towards him, from the sun

“Sun so bright, his inspiration
please delight, for his passion
is forever in fright. Sun so bright
strip him from this shell, burn those
bars that his heart has befell”

He didn’t want to believe, but the rays from her golden locks
tangled him, he felt the heat, he looked at his skin
it was filled with stars, his extremities
emitted light

He took a deep breath as if accepting the inevitable
he wanted to speak, but no words came out
he couldn’t vocalize his amazement
he had this feeling filling him
he felt like he was falling from the clouds
falling from the sky,

He tried to scream..
he couldn’t
imagine how had it is to actually try to scream
but can’t

He was falling, as soon as he could see the ground
he felt it was the end, he accepted it, again
suddenly before he’d break every bone in his body
he woke up, wet, with coffee dripping from
the sharp ends of his hair
he was on the balcony
his mug is empty
his cigarette crooked and damp

He looked around, he’s home
he set the coffee mug down
and looked at the horizon
he saw the sun rays, between the clouds
he smiled, he related

he went inside,
to wash his face so as to awaken from that trip
he opened the water, cupped his hands to fill them
then he gasped when he saw
that he had the
galaxy in his hands
and bracelet on his arm
made from one sun ray strand

“IT WAS REAL”

magic

Sea

I was at bay once
steady and clear
with my feet dipped in the sand
with that feeling of stability
filling me

I was at bay once
when the ocean breeze
played with my hair
and the waves kissed
my dug in feet

I was enjoying the strata of colors before me
a realism piece painted by the craftiest
most creative of gods

I loved how the blue sky lay carelessly
on the ocean line, it lay there weightlessly
the center was a star, looking back at me
slowly being buried by the ocean
making sure it leaves an impression
before her lover shows up

The sun rays filled the sky with purple
and pink, the clouds even posed for attention
I was at bay, my eyes enjoyed the distant journey
that they took with the sun, relentlessly

In a split moment
the sun kissed my skin
the sun looked back at me, straight into my eyes
bidding me farewell
by painting the sky in colors with no name

I felt a cold chill down my spine
the waves got stronger, I diverted my eyes from that
tearful, silent sight and looked at myself

I was no longer nestling
in the warm golden sands
I was no longer high and dry

I had been tricked

I am at sea, limitless
confused, scared, terrified
The sun had conspired with the sea
to move me from my comfort zone

The sun spoke to the sea to tease me
with its waves landing soft kisses at my
implanted feet, while it painted a portrait of beauty
seducing me, luring my thoughts

I am at sea
I am floating on the thin surface
that separates the great sky from the
deep dark world under there
another planet, another ecosystem
unknown to man

I am at sea floating
my vision could not stretch far enough
to find land

my body shaking from terror
But, the sea was gentle, moving me
slowly on its surface, like a long lost lover
trancing his hands on your spine
it’s chilling, yet so comforting

I am at sea
the mother of all sunken ships
the angry lover, whose rage scares
the bravest of men
the beautiful creature whose colors
could not match any painter’s mix

I am at sea
I am terrified of the creatures below
of the abyss of mystery it harnesses
of the stories it can narrate

it’s dark, I am floating
the sea has no mercy
the waves tested her instincts for life
the cold breezes fought her skin
the heavy waves engulfed her

Yet she still floated

The sky looked down,
as the moon covered the sea with a silver
sheet
the sky saw how strong she was
it called the stars to go down and cover her
“a blanket of stars for this brave soul” the sky said

The stars gathered and covered her
warming her with with soft glow
carrying her from the turmoil
of the sea
up to where it’s serene

She grabbed the blanket from both sides
and tightened it
with wet hair and goosebumps too
she looked at the sky
and said
“I knew it was
you”
With no reason why or question
she knew she belonged there
it’s just a feeling I suppose
that when you find your calling
you just sit there and watch your light
glow

Power of Doubt

Your silly interpretations of love

Carried me into a disillusioned adventure

That I actually molded and created

You choked me with compliments

Whose fakeness were as real as the nylon bag you chose

You carried me beyond the stars

The stars that hung on my ceiling, not those that hung above

Can my heart be that blinded, shielded by the multiple faces of love?

Do I blame myself into taking this journey with your ghost?

I sat in the bar, surrounded by loud mumbles, the fermented smell of the night before

I took a drag from my cigarette, those long pondering kind of drags

You were not there, but in my thoughts of you being there were unfair

I exhaled, I felt different, my light dimmed,

I was not myself, nor was I lonely, but your stench lingered unwillingly

I diverted my thoughts away from you, but how can you ignore that perfume?

You can’t ignore a cologne, nor can you ignore a memory

Am I lonesome tonight? Not really, I have great company

Yet, you just had to fuck it up, your thoughts had to tarnish

that golden feeling of being liberated…

I thought you were an anchor, you settled me against the anguish waves of turmoil

However, I was mistaken, you pulled me down, into the deepest darkest abyss of the unknown part of you

Have I truly loved you? Sadly yes, my heart was weakened beyond measure

Coating you with the pink attractive cover of a drug

seduced by the color, yet oblivious to the effects that follow

Now comes the question, were you truly in love or were you drugged into feeling so?

Was my naïve heart a playground for you?

Was my dominance a queue for your relief?

Could your reciprocated smile be forced as a reflection of mine?

I doubt, because I felt and you know; at some point; you did too
